SAFEKEY, THE EDGE PROGRAMS HOLD WALK-IN REGISTRATION
Clark County Parks and Recreation's Safekey and The Edge programs will hold walk-in registration through Monday for before- and after-school recreation programs held at participating elementary and middle school sites. Registration at participating schools is held in the Safekey area from 7 to 8:30 a.m. and from 3 to 6 p.m.
Safekey is a before- and after-school program sponsored by the Clark County Parks and Recreation Community Enrichment Division. Safekey will be held in more than 70 Clark County School District elementary schools during the 2008-09 school year.
The Edge is an after-school program for middle school students attending Lawrence, Silvestri, Sawyer and Faiss middle schools. Program hours are typically from 7 to 8:30 a.m. for elementary students, and from school dismissal to 6 p.m. for both elementary and middle school programs. Students must attend Safekey or The Edge programs at the school they attend.
Financial assistance may be available to qualifying families. Information and applications can be requested directly through the State of Nevada Childcare Assistance Division by calling 387-0985. CHRISTMAS IN JULY FOOD DRIVE UNDER WAY
CORE Construction is hosting its fourth annual Christmas in July food drive to help build pantry supplies for Catholic Charities of Southern Nevada.
From now until July 23, CORE's office at 2410 Fire Mesa St., Suite 130, will serve as a drop-off point for donations. The office is near the intersection of Smoke Ranch Road and Buffalo Drive and is open from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Thursday and from 7 to 11 a.m. on Fridays.
The aim is to surpass last year's effort, which collected enough canned goods, nonperishable items and monetary donations to feed 500 families in the community.

$2M IMMUNIZATION GRANT TO HELP SMALL BUSINESSES
UnitedHealth Group and its Sierra Health Services Inc. business unit have awarded a $2 million grant to the Southern Nevada Health District.
The grant, funded over three years, will provide more than 23,000 free immunizations for employees of small businesses per year, for three years.
In addition, the funds will enable the health district to launch the Nurse-Family Partnership program and provide 100 high-risk families facing first-time births with free enrollment in the new program, which will help finance 3,000 home visits.
The grant represents about 16 percent of the total funding needed for these two programs. The contribution is part of an overall $15 million commitment to Nevada by UnitedHealth Group and Sierra Health. Visit www.unitedhealthgroup.com for more information.

GROUP RAISES $10K FOR CHILDREN'S HEART FOUNDATION
The Darin Lifetime Group held an afternoon benefit concert on May 4 in honor of musician Bobby Darin, raising $10,583 to benefit the Children's Heart Foundation.
The Nevada-based foundation lends support to children and families who suffer or are affected by heart problems.
Because of the damage rheumatic fever did to his heart as a child, Bobby Darin had a special interest in children with heart problems.

EXHIBIT FEATURES PIECES FROM FINE ART COLLECTIONS
