The Clark County Heritage Museum, 1830 S. Boulder Highway, Henderson, will host Beauty in Necessity: American Indian Baskets of the West, an exhibit that displays the art of basketry, through May 11.
The exhibit highlights baskets, old and new, from the Southwest and Western United States and shows a diversity of materials and designs.

ST. PATRICK'S DAY PARADE AND FESTIVAL PLANNED
The Southern Nevada Sons of Erin will present the 42nd annual St. Patrick's Day Parade and Festival Thursday through Monday in downtown Henderson.
The parade will be at 10 a.m. Saturday. The carnival will be open from 5 to 10 p.m. Thursday and Friday, 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Saturday, noon to 10 p.m. Sunday, and noon to 8 p.m. Monday.

COLLEGE'S PIANO FESTIVAL HIGHLIGHTS YOUNG ARTISTS
The College of Southern Nevada's Piano Festival 2008 will feature several piano events from March to May.
The next event will be a piano master-class at 4:30 p.m. March 27 in the Recital Hall on the college's Cheyenne campus, 3200 E. Cheyenne Ave.
Young pianists from the Las Vegas area will compete in the college's ninth annual Piano Concerto Competition at 9 a.m. March 29 in the Recital Hall. Winners, in addition to receiving cash awards, will perform with the Nevada Chamber Symphony at an awards ceremony in May.
