NATIONAL ARCHIVES OFFICIAL TO TALK AT MEETING

The Jewish Genealogy Society of Southern Nevada plans its next meeting for 1 p.m. on Sunday at the Sahara West Library, 9600 W. Sahara Ave. The session will feature a speaker from the National Archives and Records Administration's Pacific Coast Region. Members and prospective members are invited to attend. The Jewish Genealogy Society of Southern Nevada meets the third Sunday of each month.

PHOTOS FROM TEEN COMPETION FEATURED AT SUMMERLIN LIBRARY

The seventh annual Visual Poetry Photographic Competition will be on display until April 27 at the Summerlin Library, 1771 Inner Circle Drive.

SUNDAE OFFERED IN EXCHANGE FOR KIDS' BOOKS

Comedian magician Mac King and Sammy's Woodfired Pizza have joined together to support Spread the Word Nevada: Kids to Kids during Mac King's March Book Drive for the month of March.

The promotion encourages Sammy's Woodfired Pizza patrons to bring in new or gently used children's books targeting ages 4 to 12. Anyone who donates will receive a certificate for a free giant Messy Sundae.

The Summerlin-area location for the restaurant is 6500 W. Sahara Ave., just east of Rainbow Boulevard.

CLARK COUNTY SUMMER JOBS UP FOR GRABS AT POOLS

The Clark County Parks and Recreation Department's aquatics program is recruiting individuals ages 151/2 years and older to work as lifeguards, water safety instructors, cashiers and pool management staff for the summer season.

The county has 12 pools throughout the valley. Facilities will open to the public beginning on Memorial Day weekend and will remain open through weekends in September. Lifeguard training classes are available during March, April, May and June. Early enrollment is recommended because training classes fill up quickly as summer approaches. Information on class dates and locations is available by contacting the Seasonal Aquatics Office at 455-8508, the Desert Breeze Aquatic Office at 455-7798, Option 2, or on the department's Web site.

Applications can be picked up at the Aquatics Office, 5800 E. Flamingo Road, 455-8508; and at the Desert Breeze Aquatic Office, 8275 Spring Mountain Road, 455-7798.
