ONYX THEATRE PRESENTS 'CANNIBAL! THE MUSICAL'

"Cannibal! The Musical," written by "South Park" co-creator Trey Parker, will be presented at the Onyx Theatre, 953 E. Sahara Ave., through April 5.

NEVADA CONSERVATORY THEATRE TO PERFORM 'LYSISTRATA' AT UNLV

UNLV Theater professor Robert Benedetti will premiere his interpretation of Aristophanes' "Lysistrata" at 8 p.m. April 4 in the Black Box Theatre at UNLV, 4505 Maryland Parkway.

The production is set in the fifth century and tells the story of Athenian and Spartan women refusing their husbands sex in order to end the war.

There will be additional performances at 8 p.m. April 5, 9-12, 16-19, and matinees beginning at 2 p.m. April 6, 12, 13 and 20.

Tickets can be purchased at the UNLV Performing Arts Center box office. Box office hours are Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. For more information, call 895-2787.

EXTREME SPORTS MUSIC FESTIVAL SCHEDULED FOR SATURDAY

Findlay Chevrolet's Extreme Thing 2008, a sports and music festival, will return at 11 a.m. Saturday at Desert Breeze Park, 8275 Spring Mountain Road at Durango Drive. This year's lineup includes bands such as Pennywise, Chiodos, Escape the Fate, Nonpoint, Streetlight Manifesto, Alesana and In This Moment.

MUSEUM EXHIBIT FEATURES AMERICAN INDIAN BASKETRY

The Clark County Heritage Museum, 1830 S. Boulder Highway, will host Beauty in Necessity: American Indian Baskets of the West, an exhibit that displays the art of basketry, through May 11.

The exhibit highlights baskets, old and new, from the Southwest and Western United States and shows a diversity of materials and designs.
