DANISE NANCE: Community crusader
YMCA membership director hopes to be advocate for residents' needs

Danise Nance, 32, is the membership director at the Centennial Hills YMCA, 6601 N. Buffalo Drive. A native of Long Beach, Calif., who graduated from California State University-Long Beach with a degree in criminal justice, Nance and her husband, Adam, an assistant superintendent at Aliante Golf Club, have lived in Centennial Hills for a little more than four years. She was awarded the 2007 YMCA Employee of the Year honor for her efforts in helping launch YMCA of Southern Nevada's third local branch last summer. She recently talked to the View about living in the northwest and what she does at the YMCA.

Car dealership requests waiver for neon sign
Planning Commission to revisit item at Thursday meeting

Thursday's city Planning Commission meeting agenda will revisit a waiver of Town Center development standards requested by the new Centennial Hyundai dealership at 6200 Centennial Center Blvd., which opened in June.

The agenda item originally appeared at the Oct. 23 meeting, where the commission voted to continue it in order to review the Town Center standards regarding the use of neon lights in business signage.
