The presidential campaign brings a lot of attention to national politics, and many Americans start to think about ways they can be part of the process. There's only a few weeks left this time, but you don't have to wait another four years to become active in your community.

Henderson encourages resident involvement in all aspects of its governing. A great way to be part of the decisions made in the city is to participate in public meetings.

Planners deny request for dorm
Henderson International School wanted to renovate building to house 100 students

The Henderson Planning Commission on Oct. 16 denied a request for a dormitory at The Henderson International School, 1165 Sandy Ridge Ave.

"This is the first request we've had for a boarding school," Chairman Dan Shaw said. "I'm concerned this is being incredibly rushed."
