When the Rev. John Jho set out three months ago to raise a new building on his church's 2.4-acre lot at 6554 Desert Inn Road, he knew he had to get the OK from the Clark County Commission.

What he didn't foresee is months of meetings and discussion before he even brought the plans before the Commission, and several more months before his church, Korean American Calvary Presbyterian, could finally break ground.

Concert to help make children's horse ranch a reality
Interaction with animals will help build self-esteem, organizer says

White Horse Youth Ranch is using music to raise a barn.

An in-the-round concert experience to benefit the ranch is set for 7 p.m. on Friday at the Cornerstone Christian Fellowship, 5825 Eldora Ave. The event, described by organizers as an "intimate acoustic evening," is set to feature Christian artists such as Avalon and Ten Shekel Shirt, as well as Las Vegas' own J. Teddy Johnson.
