Demetria Hamilton, 19, a sophomore at Seattle University, received a scholarship from the Clark County Housing Authority.

She also received the Guild Scholarship from Seattle University, where she is a political science major and will return as a resident assistant.

Hamilton, a June 2007 graduate of Advanced Technologies Academy, majored in law at the magnet high school. She hopes to pursue a career in corporate law.

She is the daughter of Kris and Charles Holliday of North Las Vegas.

Griffin A. Green, 18, has achieved Eagle status in the Boy Scouts of America.

A member of Troop 469, he graduated in June from Palo Verde High School.

For his Eagle project, he helped landscape the front entry planter at his high school.

Green is the son of Kelly and Kim Green of Las Vegas.

Kelsie Leas, an eighth-grader at Saville Middle School, attended the Wrangler Junior High National Finals Rodeo in Gallup, N.M., June 25 through July 5.

As the Nevada state all-around champion, she qualified in five events, placed third in the first round of barrel racing, second in the second round of break-away, qualified for the championship round in goat tying and pole bending, placed fourth in go-round and fourth in the nation in goat tying and 14th in pole bending. She finished sixth overall in the all-around race.

Ferell Wrich, 20, was named 2008 National American Miss Nevada and will attend the national pageant at Disneyland in Anaheim, Calif., in November.

Wrich, a 2006 graduate of Advanced Technologies Academy, where she majored in law, is currently a communications major at the College of Southern Nevada. She hopes to become a motivational speaker and a writer.

She is the daughter of Dave and Crystal Wrich.

Christian Hirschi, a student at Cumorah Academy, attended the People to People World Leadership Forum in Washington, D.C., Sept. 15-21.

The program allows students to earn high school credit while studying leadership and exploring some of the United States' prominent monuments and institutions.

Hirschi was accepted to the program based on outstanding scholastic merit, civic involvement and leadership potential.

He is the son of Chad and Crystal Hirschi of Las Vegas.

Jessica Walker, 19, daughter of Stephen and Becky Walker of Henderson, was named to the spring 2008 dean's list at Lee University in Cleveland, Tenn.

Students must have a 3.7 grade point average or higher to be named to the dean's list.

Walker is a 2007 graduate of Silverado High School.
