Veterans' Names needed to add to memorial wall

Henderson will host its annual Veterans Day Ceremony on Nov. 8 and will add names to the Henderson Veterans Memorial Wall, 240 Water St., adjacent to City Hall. The wall lists more than 1,500 names, and the city is seeking additional names of Henderson residents who have served our nation.

The wall has two panels: the deceased veterans panel memorializes deceased veterans who made Henderson home before 1980, and the Vietnam War panel honors those who were Henderson residents during their service in the Vietnam War.

Names to potentially be added to the wall must be submitted by Wednesday along with documentation -- DD214 (service discharge papers) -- and proof of residency during time specified. To submit an application or for information, call the city clerk's office at 267-1415.
