TOWN HALL MEETING: Plans for the future
Ward 1 councilman, city officials discuss ongoing projects for NLV

More than 50 North Las Vegas residents turned out for Councilman Robert Eliason's town hall meeting inside the Mojave High School Theater, 5302 Goldfield St., on Oct. 21 to ask questions, voice concerns and learn more about projects that will have an impact in Ward 1.

The meeting featured presentations and discussions on a number of topics including public works projects, an overview of the Downtown Master Plan, a community police and fire department update and a pilot recycling program.

Musician may get his own moment to shine

Independent neo-soul artist Corey "Stone" Paxton said he believes one of the characteristic virtues of his personality to be patience, but after nearly 20 years of struggling as a singer, songwriter, producer and musician, the North Las Vegas resident may get his moment to shine.

The former talent scout recently booked a tour gig with OutKast band member Sleepy Brown, a break that may well catapult him to stardom.
