INTERIOR DESIGN FIRM'S WORK HONORED
Local interior design firm Tandem received two Hospitality Awards from the Network of Executive Women in Hospitality for its achievements in architecture, design and development. Tandem, at 5915 Edmond St., received the best hospitality retail space award for its work at Annie Creamcheese, a clothing store at Palazzo, 3327 Las Vegas Blvd. South, that was designed by Vedelago-Petsch Architects. Tandem also received the Best Ballroom and Convention Space Award for its reinvention of the Reno-based Atlantis Casino Resort Spa, designed by Waldemar Eklof Architects.
HOLIDAY BOUTIQUE SET TO HELP VALLEY KIDS
Children's Service Guild hosts its 34th annual holiday boutique from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Nov. 8 at the Elks Lodge, 4100 W. Charleston Blvd. The day includes a raffle with more than 25 baskets, dinner certificates and $500 cash prizes. The boutique will sell arts and crafts, clothes, barbecue sauces, jams and breads -- all homemade by guild members. Children's Service Guild raises money for local children in need, including children in the family court services and through Child Haven.

CHILD FOCUS HOLDS WORKSHOP TO EMPOWER YOUNG WOMEN
Child Focus invites women ages 18 to 21 to its workshop, Girls Power, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday at Child Focus, 4310 S. Cameron St. Professional trainer and coach Mia Matisse will talk about self-confidence, personal power and relationship building. A Mary Kay representative also will demonstrate makeup techniques and skin care. The workshop is put on by Child Focus, a group that supports children living in foster care, and the Step Up Program, which helps prepare foster children for self-sufficiency.

CALIFORNIA CONDOR TO TAKE CENTER STAGE AT MEETING
Red Rock Audubon Society will host a presentation on the California condor at 7 p.m. Nov. 10. Robert Mesta, a biologist with the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, will speak about his work with national programs to recover the bald eagle, the peregrine falcon and the California condor. He coordinated the California Condor Recovery Program from 1990 to 2000 and directed the first releases of the condor back into the wild in California and Arizona. The Red Rock Audubon Society meets the second Monday of every month at the Nevada Power Building's Wengert Room, 6226 W. Sahara Ave.
