Bye-Bye Gravel Pit, Hello Reservoir





fred couzens/viewClark County Regional Flood control directors recently extended, until Sept. 9, 2009, the completion date for the 95-acre-foot Bootleg Canyon detention basin, as seen on from its north side, after a change in the outlet design of the proposed $2.2 million facility became necessary. With Boulder Sand & Gravel Co. out of the basin, City Engineer Jim Keane is predicting construction of the storm water reservoir that will be able to hold 31 million gallons of runoff could start as early as January 2009.
