Police chief reflects on his career in law enforcement

Chief Richard Perkins is saying goodbye to the Henderson Police Department on Friday after almost 25 years of service.

Perkins joined the police department in 1984 and served as a field training officer, police investigator, sergeant, captain and deputy police chief before being named police chief in 2006.

Station's employees could get deals on apartments
Planners say number of units depends on work force housing agreement

The Henderson Planning Commission on Aug. 28 approved a request to rezone a vacant lot adjacent to the Fiesta Henderson so that Trammell Crow Residential can purchase the land from Station Casinos.

Trammell Crow wants to build a 380-unit apartment complex on 10.5 acres at Lake Mead Parkway and Fiesta Henderson Drive.
