WES WINTERS' ANGELS: There's no business ...

VIEW STAFF WRITER

It isn't unusual for shows on the Las Vegas Strip to have sexy, curvaceous showgirls with sequined gowns and glittering décolletage. And, "A Musical Tribute to Liberace," starring Wes Winters is no exception. What makes the dancers in Winters' show at the Steve Wyrick Theatre in the Miracle Mile Shops at Planet Hollywood unusual is that they range in age from 63 to 70.

On stage, it's difficult to tell that the ladies are not the typical showgirls one expects. Even when they meet and greet guests after the show with no stage lights or theater trickery, they don't give the impression that they're old. Frankly, they're too busy being charming, delightful and downright hot for that sort of ageism to rear its head.

The group is not as unusual as the lengthy name would imply. Americans who can trace their roots to Germans from Russia are all over the country, particularly in the West. Many Germans from Russia helped settle the great frontier that is now the western half of the country.
