NEW PIZZA RECIPE STIRS UP CANCER DONATIONS
Sammy's Woodfired Pizza raised $6,418 for the Southern Nevada affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the Cure over the summer. To celebrate its new location in the Arroyo Market Square near the corner of South Rainbow Boulevard and the Las Vegas Beltway, Sammy's Woodfired Pizza introduced a new pizza invented by Heidi Harris, morning disc jockey at KDWN 720 AM. The new pizza was called Heidi's Rosemary Chicken Pizza. Throughout June and July, 645 of Harris' pizzas were sold, and 100 percent of the proceeds went to Susan G. Komen for the Cure.
Runners, walkers invited to get in motion
The Ryno Invitational and Finding Autistic Solutions for Tomorrow 4 Kids Walk for Charity is Oct. 4 at Wayne Bunker Park, on the corner of West Alexander Road and North Tenaya Way. The event includes a 5k run and competitive 5k race for cash prizes. Registration fees are $20 for the charity walk; $28 for the 5k run and $38 for the competitive 5k race. Proceeds benefit F.A.S.T. 4 Kids.

The Pointe Dance Center invites children and teens to audition to be a part of a performing arts group that will perform at various local events. The audition is Sept. 27 at The Pointe Dance Center, 9340 W. Flamingo Road, Suite 118. Auditions for 5- to 7-year-olds is at 1 p.m., 8- to 11-year-olds is at 1: 30 p.m. and for 12-year-olds and teens is at 2 p.m.

SENIORS INVITED TO JET BOAT ALONG LAKE HAVASU
West Flamingo Senior Center invites seniors ages 50 and older to take a scenic jet boat tour along the Colorado River to the London Bridge in Lake Havasu from 6:30 a.m. to 7 p.m. Oct. 13. Pick up is at 6:30 a.m. at the senior center, 6255 W. Flamingo Road. Cost is $95, which includes transportation and the tour admission. Deadline to register is 5 p.m. Sept. 19.
