The city of Las Vegas has announced plans to make over the aging Freedom Park, 850 N. Mojave Road, a process that city officials project will begin in late October.
"The park is already closed and fenced off in preparation for the redevelopment efforts," project architect Patrick Batte said. Plans for the 68-acre park, which was built in 1972, include renovations of two Little League baseball fields, two new soccer fields, shade structures, security lighting, a perimeter fence, a jogging path, an exercise area, a skate park, an events platform and a building that will feature restrooms and a concessions area.
