About 50 budding children's authors are expected to gather at the College of Southern Nevada Charleston campus Oct. 18 to swap critiques and soak up tips from authors of the nation's most-read children's books.

The one-day conference, Ready, Set ... Publish, targeted at all children's writers from the newbie to the veteran, will host four speakers: Tricycle Press editor Abigail Samoun and children's authors Linda Joy Singleton, Michelle Parker-Rock and Ellen Hopkins.
