Three moms create garage sale for baby, children's items

What to do with all the kids' stuff they've outgrown, out-worn and out-played with?

There's always the conventional option to set up a garage sale and tape up a scribbled sign to try to lure shoppers. But what about dumping all the stuff at someone else's garage sale, leaving the work up to them and still making money?

Family Promise fundraiser to explore homelessness firsthand

Instead of cars, colorfully decorated boxes will line the parking lot at The Crossing Church May 1 and 2.

A few hundred people are expected to sleep in the boxes to raise awareness of the valley's growing homeless population. The event, dubbed Cardboard City, also is a fundraiser for Family Promise of Las Vegas, a nonprofit that shelters, feeds and educates homeless families.
