By LAURA EMERSON
VIEW STAFF WRITER

Each new school year in the Clark County School District brings with it a group of new schools, and the 2009-10 academic year harkens the first years of six new campuses.

Bozarth Elementary School, 7431 Egan Crest Drive, will open to a projected 530 students in the Centennial Hills area with former Lummis Elementary School Principal Rodney Saunders leading the charge on Aug. 24. The aviators' colors are navy blue and silver, and the school is fully staffed with a group of teachers who followed Saunders to his new campus, which parent Melissa Johnston refers to as "Saunders' entourage."

VIEW STAFF WRITER

With gas prices rising and people becoming more environmentally conscious, programs touting alternative modes of transportation are growing in popularity.

The program was founded several years ago in an effort to ease congestion on Nevada roads, according to Tracy Bower, director of government affairs for the transportation commission.
