Busy preteen recognized in national online competition

Jenaisy Alfonso doesn't take days off.

Her weekdays start with school at 8 a.m., followed by cheerleading and youth theater practice on Mondays, four hours of dance on Tuesdays and Thursdays, an hour-long voice and piano lesson on Fridays, another four hours worth of dance on Saturdays and church on Sundays.

King Charles Troupe shows off tricks at schools, charity events, programs

A group of Spring Valley young people are working to mentor Las Vegas' urban youth by taking them off the streets and putting them on ... unicycles?

It's true. Unicycles are as good a means as any to motivate kids to dream big and to work their way out of rough neighborhoods, according to the dozen or so unicyclists in the valley who call themselves the King Charles Troupe.
