COUNTDOWN TO OPENING: Ready to launch
The M Resort, with 400 rooms and nine restaurants, will open on Sunday

Just as valley residents were getting used to The M Resort Lightship floating above their neighborhood, the ship disappeared, but it's not gone for good.

The lightship was sent to Southern California in January but will be back in time for the hotel-casino's grand opening on Sunday.

Henderson considering other options for reducing costs

City Manager Mary Kay Peck gave a financial update at the Feb. 17 Henderson City Council meeting.

As stated in a meeting in December, there is a $53 million shortfall in the $265 budget for fiscal year 2009.
