MEET THE CANDIDATES: Sean Hoeffgen
Candidate for North Las Vegas Department 2 Judge
North Las Vegas municipal court judge Sean Hoeffgen grew up in Southern California, an active participant in Boy Scouts and church activities.
Hoeffgen graduated from Brigham Young University with a degree in political science in 1992 and from the University of San Diego School of Law in 1996.
Hoeffgen was elected municipal court judge for department 2 in 2005.
Hoeffgen said that his proven ability to handle the high-stress environment that accompanies presiding over the busiest municipal court in the state, along with a reputation for ethical and sound judgment, makes him the perfect candidate for the department seat.
"That, combined with my experience in the real world settings, makes me the candidate for the job," Hoeffgen said.
Hoeffgen enjoys spending time with his wife and his sons.
After moving to Clark County in 1997 to accept a job offer working with Family Court Judge Gary Redmon, Hoeffgen passed the state bar exam in 1998 and eventually went on to work in the Las Vegas Municipal Court as an attorney attached to the Craig P. Kenny & Associates law firm.
