MEET THE CANDIDATES: Marsha Kimble-Simms
Candidate for North Las Vegas Department 2 Judge
The daughter of an assistant principal and a social worker who always wanted to make a difference in the lives of others, professional attorney Marsha Kimble-Simms was born in Michigan and moved to Las Vegas in 2000. Kimble-Simms graduated from the University of Michigan with a bachelor's degree in mass communications and the University of Detroit School of Law. For several years in California, Kimble-Simms operated an independent law office, eventually moving up through ranks to serve as a prosecutor with a 90 percent conviction rate.
After moving to North Las Vegas, when her children became of school age, Kimble-Simms returned to her career, passing the Nevada Bar.
"After 14 years in public and private practice with extensive trial experience in civil, criminal and administrative law, I believe I am the person for this job," she said.
Kimble-Simms said that her commitment to public service and demonstrated leadership makes her the most qualified candidate for the department 2 seat.
Kimble-Simms is married, mother to five children, an active participant in the Las Vegas foster care system and an advocate for children's rights.
