Program grooms potential teachers for district
First participants set to graduate from Nevada State College in August

Eight students are set to graduate from Nevada State College in August, making them the first group to complete the Student to Teacher Enlistment Project Undergraduate Program.

The initiative, which aims to grow teachers from within the Clark County School District, began in 2004. In 2009, there are 230 students enrolled in the program at the high school level, and 170 taking classes either at the College of Southern Nevada or Nevada State College.
