Vocal Soup is planned for 8 p.m. Friday through Sunday at the Suncoast Showroom, 9090 W. Alta Drive.

The show features Clint Holmes, Susan Anton, Domenick Allen and Martin Nievera. In addition, special guest Vincent Falcone --- who was a pianist and a conductor for Frank Sinatra --- will perform and conduct during a segment of the show dedicated to the music of Ol' Blue Eyes.

GRACE IN THE DESERT CONTINUES HOT SUMMER NIGHTS SERIES

Grace in the Desert Episcopal Church, 2004 Spring Gate Lane, plans its next Hot Summerlin Nights artist series for 7 p.m. Sunday. The show is Rock into Summer and is appropriate for all ages.

SEE 'SEUSSICAL JUNIOR' AT THE SUMMERLIN LIBRARY

Broadway Bound and the Summerlin Dance Academy plan "Seussical Junior" for 7 p.m. June 29 through July 3 at the Summerlin Library Performing Arts Center, 1771 Inner Circle Drive.

The musical centers around the Dr. Seuss story of "Horton Hears a Who!" and Horton's endeavors to protect the people of Who-ville who live on a tiny speck of dust.

J.C. WOOLOUGHAN'S IRISH PUB TO CONTINUE CONCERT SERIES

J.C. Wooloughan's Irish Pub's third annual weekend concert series runs from 8 p.m. to midnight every Friday and Saturday through September at The Backyard, J.C. Wooloughan's outdoor arena. The pub is located inside the JW Marriott at 221 N. Rampart Blvd.

The series runs specials each week. There is no cover charge.

Featured bands include Vegas U2, Wild Celts, Swagger and Joshua Tree.

RED ROCK RESORT ANNOUNCES DAILY POOL PARTY

Red Rock Resort will host the Cherry Cabana Club, a daily pool party, from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m., and an evening pool party every Sunday beginning at 10 p.m., on the nightclub pool patio.

Cherry Cabana Club will feature disc jockeys Friday through Monday. Specialty drinks will be available, along with a full bar. Food is served from the Sandbar restaurant in the backyard pool area. Blackjack also is available at the Sandbar daily.

Cabanas and daybeds are available starting at $200.

RED ROCK RESORT TO OFFER Free Jazz Fridays

Free Jazz Fridays will bring local and regional jazz performers to the Sandbar at Red Rock Resort, 11011 W. Charleston Blvd.

The series runs from 7 to 10 p.m. Fridays. This Friday will feature Robezz and the Jazz Train.

The shows are for ages 21 years and older. There is no cover charge. Each week will feature a different band or artist. Free Jazz Fridays will not take place on July 24.

SEE FLASHBACK FEATURES AT TEXAS AND ALIANTE STATIONS

Regal Cinemas will host a summer classic movie series dubbed Flashback Features that will bring 16 classic movies to the silver screen at theaters located inside Texas Station, 2101 Texas Star Lane, and Aliante Station, 7300 Aliante Parkway.

The series will run through July, and each showing begins at 6:30 p.m. Tickets cost $5 each.

BLUES, BREWS & BBQ FESTIVAL COMING SATURDAY

The Cannery, 2121 E. Craig Road, will present the eighth annual Blues, Brews & BBQ Festival at 5 p.m. Saturday. The event will include live entertainment from Marcia Ball, the Dirty Dozen Brass Band, John Lee Hooker Jr. and Ironing Board Sam. Local vendors will be on hand to serve up barbecue, beer and ciders.

Comedy Club puts the spotlight on Pam Matteson

Bonkerz Comedy Club will showcase stand-up comedians Pam Matteson and Kathleen Dunbar Thursday through Saturday. Mateson's gift for mimicry and song deliver an entertaining list of song parodies and impressions. She impersonates Judy Garland, Goldie Hawn and Cher. Dunbar is a local comic with a flair for sarcastic, edgy humor.

PATTI LUPONE TO TAKE THE STAGE AT THE ORLEANS

Singer-actress Patti LuPone will debut her new, one-woman show "The Gypsy in my Soul" at 8 p.m. Saturday and Sunday at The Orleans, 4500 W. Tropicana Ave. LuPone will perform songs that have long been associated with her four-decade Broadway career, as well as some of her personal pop favorites.

NEW ART EXHIBIT OPENS

A collection of paintings by Tennessee-based artist Erin Anfinson will be featured in a new exhibit, Confrontations, beginning June 19 at the Charleston Heights Arts Center, 800 Brush St. The exhibit will run through Aug. 27 and features digitally manipulated images. Admission is free.

'KING OF WALTZ' TO VISIT THE ORLEANS

Known as the "King of Waltz," André Rieu and his Johann Strauss Orchestra will perform at 7 p.m. June 24 at The Orleans Arena, 4500 W. Tropicana Ave.

A Dutch violinist and conductor, Rieu holds the No. 8 position in Pollstar's top 10 list of worldwide touring acts. In 1978, he formed the Johann Strauss Orchestra, which has grown from 12 to nearly 50 members.

RELIVE THE SUMMER OF 1969 ON FREMONT STREET

The Fremont Street Experience has announced that John Van Hamersveld will serve as the official artist of "Summer of 69: Vegas or Bust" promotional theme that will accompany the Viva Vision show and concert series through Labor Day weekend. Van Hamersveld is most known for his work on the album cover for the Beatles' "Magical Mystery Tour" and poster for the 1966 surf-genre movie "Endless Summer."

Van Hamersveld has created a Viva Vision show, "Signs of Life," featuring two custom-painted vintage school buses.
