Police said as the suspect attempted to walk out the door without paying for merchandise, a struggle ensued with store security, during which the suspect tried to retrieve an unspecified weapon from his waistband, police said. The suspect then dropped the weapon and fled the area with the help of a getaway driver, police said. They said the incident was recorded on a video surveillance system. Residents can call the police department at 828-3591 with any information. To remain anonymous, call Crime Stoppers at 385-5555.
