Lyme disease group to meet at mountainview Hospital
The Nevada Lyme Disease United Coalition meets from 6 to 7:30 p.m. the first Friday of each month at MountainView Hospital in The Mark Howard Classroom, 3100 N. Tenaya Way. The next meeting is slated for Friday.

SINGLES EVENT FOR AGES 40 AND OLDER SET AT ADDISON'S LOUNGE
A 40-and-older singles event, Mingle if You're Single, is planned from 7 to 10 p.m. every Sunday through July 26 at Addison's Lounge inside the Rampart Casino at the Resort at Summerlin, 221 N. Rampart Blvd.
The casual event will feature live music and dancing. Admission is $10, which includes a free drink.

SUN WEST CUSTOM HOMES PICKS UP THREE AWARDS
Sun West Custom Homes Vantage Pointe took three awards for the 2009 Parade of Homes: the People's Choice for Best Residential Design; Best Overall; Professionals Choice for Best Automation and Home Theatre.
All three were for a house by Daniel Coletti, residential designer and Sun West president, for a Vantage Pointe home with 10,835 square feet of living space. Vantage Pointe is adjacent to Red Rock Golf Club's hole No. 9.
Sun West Custom Homes began participating in home tours in Florida in 1980 and has 33 awards to date. In addition to Parade of Homes tours in Florida, Colorado and Las Vegas, Sun West Custom Homes also was a featured builder in four Las Vegas Street of Dreams events.
TRANSPORTATION COMMISSION ANNOUNCES ROUTE CHANGES
The Regional Transportation Commission of Southern Nevada was scheduled to make a number of service changes to its transit routes effective June 28.
All routes except Route 113 (Las Vegas Boulevard North), Route 116 (Koval Lane/Industrial Road), Route 217 (Warm Springs Road/Downtown Henderson) and Route 219 (Craig Road) will experience some type of change, although most will be minor.

GROUP AIMS TO COLLECT CANS TO HELP ANIMALS
Paws to Recycle is working to collect 1 million aluminum cans a month to raise money to help local no-kill animal shelters. Residents can drop off their empty cans, and Paws to Recycle will pick them up and exchange them for cash that will be used to support spay and neuter programs and other services at animal shelters.
There are two drop-off locations: Rainbow Animal Hospital, 244 S. Rainbow Blvd., south of Westcliff Drive; and A Dog's Best Friend grooming, 4241 W. Charleston Blvd., east of Arville Street. Paws to Recycle is seeking additional veterinarian's offices and groomers to serve as drop-off locations for cans. For more information, call 217-2319.
