Bad to the bone
Ultramarathoner gears up for 135-mile dash through Death Valley

Half a marathon, piece of cake. A full marathon? No problem. A 50-, 60- or 100-mile-plus running event? Bring it on.

Summerlin resident Molly Sheridan, 52, said she partakes in extreme running for the fun if it. She's run a total of 20 ultramarathons to date.

Landscaping earns homeowners kudos from water authority

The Whiting family of the Summerlin area recently pulled off a first-place win in the Southern Nevada Water Authority's annual Landscape Awards contest for their category -- a residence using a landscape company.

Craig and Lucy Whiting had grass for the last 10 years on their half-acre lot. When Lucy Whiting moved here at age 19 after being born and raised in Chicago, she was accustomed to greenery.
