Angelo Carvalho was born in Thailand and moved to the United States with his family at 7 years old.

He moved to Nevada in 1992 after serving in Desert Storm and became a U.S. citizen in 1996.

Carvalho has served 21 years in the military, served in two tours of Iraq and currently is enlisted in the Army Reserves.

During his military career, Carvalho has worked as an instructor and in the military police. He currently owns and operates a car accessory business.

Carvalho was appointed to the North Las Vegas Planning Commission four years ago and currently is serving as the commission's chairperson.

Carvalho said that he believes he would be the ideal candidate for the Ward 3 seat because of his leadership experience and ability to maneuver tough situations.

"I will work diligently to ensure the city is growing in the right direction," he said.

Carvalho has been married for 15 years and is the father of two boys.
