Saving the Earth one hour at a time
The valley will join the world in an event to save energy, raise awareness

The Las Vegas Valley is going to go dark along with more than 1,000 cities around the world on Saturday night.

Earth Hour, a World Wildlife Fund initiative, encourages business owners and residents to turn their lights off from 8:30 to 9:30 p.m.

City of Henderson staff members knew they wanted to do something to take part in Earth Hour, the World Wildlife Fund's global climate change awareness campaign. But how do you compete with Las Vegas shutting down the lights along the world famous Strip?
