Sounds of the past
Trio's playlist inspired by early jazz, rock 'n' roll and Delta blues artists

When pressed, Mike Graves said his band, the Mike Graves Trio, plays rockabilly, but that doesn't exactly explain what audiences experience at the shows.

"It's hard to sum it up," Graves said. "We reach all the way back to 1930s jazz and Delta blues, but we also play rock 'n' roll from the '50s."

With the historical presidential election of 2008 not far behind us, Henderson is preparing for its own noteworthy general election.

"I think people may have been inspired by the presidential election," said Monica Martinez Simmons, Henderson city clerk.
