Public BMX track is home to all-ages bicycle competition

By F. ANDREW TAYLOR
VIEW STAFF WRITER

Tucked into an out-of-the-way Clark County Park near Nellis Air Force Base is one of the valley's longest running public bicycle motocross tracks. Nellis BMX, a nonprofit organization run by volunteers, operates the track. The group consists primarily of BMX enthusiasts and parents who want to make sure there's always a place in the valley for the sport.

The track has been there 25 years and consists of dirt hills combined with some cement elements. The track requires fairly regular maintenance by the volunteers to keep it in tiptop shape.
