LETTER TO THE EDITOR
CAR DEALERS SHOULD RE-EVALUATE LETTING EMPLOYEES DRIVE NEW CARS
I was reading the View, and I read the (letter to the editor) in regard to license plate offenses way more costly to taxpayers, Oct. 27. It made me think of a situation that drives me crazy. I think it should be illegal for car dealership employees to drive cars for sale to and from home or to lunch. It is not fair to us, the auto buyers, for several reasons.
1. The car dealership employees do not pay for gas, we do.
2. The car dealership employees put mileage on the vehicles. We pay for that, as well as the warranty that will expire sooner due to the number of miles.
3. The car dealership employees do not pay for car insurance, we do. If the vehicle is involved in an accident, guess who ends up paying, we do.
4. Have you ever seen how people drive vehicles that they do not own? Example: rental cars. Car dealership employees are the same.
5. Car dealership employees get to drive new cars all the time. We don't.
I always have looked for a way to express my frustration, and I feel better being able to address this issue.
