Academic head counting
Centennial High School lost a teacher; Rancho has openings

At the beginning of each academic year, every school campus in the Clark County School District has to submit to a count of its students on a pre-determined day. Each school campus then receives funding approval based on a final audit by the state Department of Education on that count.

For the 2009-10 year, count day took place on Sept. 18.

Former airman puts organizational skills to work with the Office Squad

Former U.S. Air Force Airmen Jarita "Dida" Clifton has been all over the world and is a big proponent of learning new things on the job.

That's why, in 2000, when the North Las Vegas resident decided to found the Office Squad, a business that provides virtual administrative assistance, office management and bookkeeping, she did not let anything hold her back.
