It is Dia de los Muertos -- in Latino cultures, Day of the Dead -- a popular Nov. 1 celebration that honors loved ones who have passed on. And for most people not of Hispanic heritage, little is known about the holiday, which often is shrouded in mystique.

Lied Discovery Children's Museum, 833 Las Vegas Blvd. North, is working to lift that veil, however, with a monthlong education and celebration series, Dia de los Muertos.
