Dome home open for tours
Unique structure is under construction in the Sunrise area

Ideally, David and Su-Z Allen would be living in their new home this weekend, instead of exhibiting it as an example of dome construction, but a number of factors have slowed them down. The primary factor, like much of the construction in the valley, is money. Currently, they're waiting to put about $200 of rubber grommets throughout the house to protect the wiring from the steel edges of the studs.

"Emergencies keep cropping up, but once we get those in we can start pulling wire and put in the AC," Su-Z Allen said.

CareMore to open two offices
Facilities focus on preventative care for seniors on Medicare

To understand CareMore, the new managed care organization that's coming to town, you need to start at the feet, specifically, the patient's feet. The CareMore Health Plan was formed in 2003 in California by physicians who realized they were taking good care of their elder patients by looking at the big picture.

"They were looking at their diabetics and realized that they were controlling them so they weren't having amputations," said Joanne Steffen, executive director for the Nevada CareMore operation. "What they did was invite their patients to come in on a monthly basis to have their toenails clipped."
