Saving a sanctuary
Residents protest proposed fast-food eatery near Craig Road Pet Cemetery

About the only things not tossed at a speaker at a Sept. 22 town hall meeting were rotten vegetables.

Northwest Las Vegas residents were up in arms at the possibility of a Carl's Jr. fast-food restaurant coming into their midst, adjacent to Craig Road Pet Cemetery. Warren Hardy, a representative for CT1, a property investment group that is developing the project, met with them and explained the details. The parcel in question is at the northwest corner of Craig Road and Tenaya Way.

Every 15 Minutes demonstrates mock crash for students

More than a dozen police officers swarmed to Cimarron-Memorial High School on Oct. 1. There had been a horrific accident. An ambulance team and firefighter units rushed to the scene. A helicopter swooped in to whisk away the critically injured.

Then the hearse arrived.
