There's a sign attached to an entry door at the Boulder City Library announcing that storytimes for children will start up again on Oct. 7, and while there are plenty of tots -- and, yes, frazzled parents -- who are counting down the days, there may be no one quite as excited as Kimberly Diehm.
"The funny thing is, I still get a little nervous before storytime, but afterward I feel so good, like I'm making a difference. I have this glow and I'm kind of walking on my toes," said Diehm, seated in a little wooden chair in the children's section of the library, speaking within earshot of the room's two life-size teddy bears.
