Traveling to Africa as missionaries, Amy Lorfing and her 12-year-old son, Tristen, knew they would encounter cultural differences and see interesting things. One of the latter was apparent as soon as their plane touched down.

"There were monkeys in a tree at the airport," Tristen said.
