With the wastewater treatment plant under construction near Nellis Air Force Base 60 percent complete, city of North Las Vegas officials, construction workers, residents and dignitaries of Nellis Air Force Base gathered for the open house ceremony May 18, celebrating what North Las Vegas officials have described as a "project that is ahead of schedule and under budget."

The projected $240 million wastewater facility, which is expected to treat up to 25 million gallons of wastewater a day, is projected to be complete by May 2011.
