EAGLE SCOUT FOOD DRIVE TO HELP HOMELESS
An Eagle Scout food drive is planned to help local veterans and the homeless. Houses will receive bags and fliers with more details on Thursday and Friday. Those who do not receive a bag but would like to donate can call 360-2629.
LEARN NEW DISHES AT RECIPE EXCHANGE
The Summerlin Library's recipe exchange is scheduled from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. Thursday at the library, 1771 Inner Circle Drive.
The group plans to meet in the library conference room. Learn cooking secrets from chefs of Le Cordon Bleu College of Culinary Arts and bring your favorite recipes to exchange with others.

PAGEANT PASS-ALONG COMING TO SUNCOAST
Fit For The Crown plans to host a Pageant Pass-Along from 1 to 5 p.m. Sunday at the Suncoast, 9090 Alta Drive.
The Pageant Pass-Along will provide an opportunity to sell and purchase pageant wardrobe items and consult with health and beauty, hair, makeup, fitness and photography professionals. This will be a one-stop shop for anyone preparing to compete in a pageant.
Proceeds from the sales and admissions will benefit the Southern Nevada affiliate of the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation.
Admission is $10 and includes automatic entry into a raffle.

LARGE VISION BUSINESS NETWORK MIXER TO HOST HOLIDAY CELEBRATION
The Large Vision Business Network Mixer and the Hannah Brown CDC plan to host a Holiday Celebration from 6 to 9 p.m. Nov. 30 at the Suncoast, 9090 Alta Drive.
Expect more than 50 business exhibits and the Chefs Corner, which will feature samples of holiday flavors, a gingerbread house contest for students, holiday music and a special guest from the North Pole.
The event is open to the public with more than 5,000 free tickets to be distributed at various locations. Free tickets also are available before the event at pjproductionlive.com/LVBNM.html. Otherwise, admission will be $10. Children 12 or younger get in free.
SUMMERLIN ROTARY CLUB PLANS CHARITABLE PROJECTS FOR HOLIDAYS
The Summerlin Rotary Club plans to host a number of programs to help the needy this season. The club is collecting food in November for HELP of Southern Nevada. Dozens of collection boxes are in place to take donations.
On Dec. 1, it plans Santa Clothes, an ongoing local Rotary project. The Summerlin club will sponsor 10 local needy children, meeting them at participating JCPenney's, for a shopping spree followed by a holiday party.
Later that evening, the Summerlin Rotary Club will provide volunteer help to Opportunity Village's Magical Forest.
On Dec. 4, it's a sponsor of the Great Santa Run at Town Square Las Vegas, 6605 Las Vegas Blvd. South. The marathon event will benefit Opportunity Village.

RESTAURANT ASK FOR DONATIONS OF WINTER GEAR FOR HOMELESS TEENS
Casa di Amore plans to provide Thanksgiving Day dinner to 160 homeless teens from the Stand Up For Kids program at its location, 2850 E. Tropicana Ave.
Owner/operator Michael Campagno also is asking the valley to bring winter hats, scarves and gloves for the teens. Al Phillips The Cleaner has boxes set up at all its valley locations for these to be collected.

MOMMY & ME WEST COLLECTS FOOD FOR THREE SQUARE
Mommy & Me West hosted a food drive that netted 246 pounds of food and $50 in cash for Three Square food bank, 4190 N. Pecos Road.
The items were donated Oct. 16. The group also took a behind-the-scenes tour of the facility on that day.
Mommy & Me West is an independent, nonprofit parents organization that offers a monthly calendar full of activities and events.

PHYSICAL THERAPISTS DONATE PEANUT BUTTER AND JELLY
More than a dozen physical therapy clinics and more than 260 physical therapists and physical therapy students in the Las Vegas Valley collected more than 1,430 pounds of peanut butter and jelly to donate to Three Square food bank as part of the second annual statewide Great Peanut Butter (& Jelly!) Challenge during October to celebrate National Physical Therapy Month and to help nourish hungry families.
Statewide, 35 clinics and 450 physical therapists and students collected more than 2,430 pounds of peanut butter and jelly. For more information, visit feedingamerica.org.
FREE BLOOD PRESSURE SCREENINGS SET FOR TUESDAYS
Free blood pressure screenings are offered from 10 to 11 a.m. every Tuesday at the h2u MountainView Office, 8524 Del Webb Blvd.
The screenings are free, but an RSVP is required by calling 255-5404. A free blood pressure log will be supplied to you to track your readings.
